To achieve a Level 4 in my magazine brief I need to:
- Use an appropriate layout throughout my magazine to appeal to my target audience
- Use appropriate language to relate to my target audience and to create interest in the magazine.
- Find and use a maximum of 3 fonts to use throughout my magazine, so to keep a house style. These also need to connotate appropriate images with regards to my target audience and for the main article my font needs to be simple and easy to read.
- Use mise en scene within my photo's to create interest and to portray the correct image for my magazine. I also need to use correct shot types for the same reason.
- Understand magazine conventions and use these effectively when creating my cover, contents and double page spread.
- Use my ICT skills effectively, and within this edit my photos using a photo editing software to give my mgazine a more proffesional finish.
What they have done as well;
- Used an appropriate colour scheme running through the magazine in keeping with the house style.
- The layout is different but appealing and catches the eye, creating interest.
- They have used a variety of fonts in different sizes to make certain important key features stand out.
- They have followed magazine conventions
I think both of these magazines achieved a Level 4 as they met all expected targets. There layout was interesting and eye catching, they used appropriate images that appealed to their target audience. Both of their colour schemes stand out and catch the eye, the fonts are kept minimal so are easy to read but are attractive. The text of the article is written well and keeps the reader interested.
