Front Page Plan

For my front page I want to keep the layout simple and ordered. My image will cover the entire page and will most likely cover part of the masthead. My main article will be the only article advertised on the front cover as I want this to be the main focus. I will coordinate the colours of the text with the image and also keep the font in line with my informal theme. The image, colour scheme and overall layout will be inkeeping with my target audience as I am aiming my magazine at females predominantly so therefore I need to convey that image immediately from my front cover.

Contents Plan

I will have my contents page across two pages with an image relating to my feature article appearing at the top of the page. I will include an Editors Letter within my contents page underneath the image along with the actual contents (features and their pages). I have decided to include a letter so to give a personal feel to my magazine, my letter will be of an informal style so the reader can easily relate to it and also inkeeping with the informal style of the magazine on a whole. The contents I will order as it would be found in other magazines, breaking down the articles into several sections such as Every Week Features, Reviews, Interviews and News. I will keep the  background colour white as the pages are fairly busy, and then keep the text to a minimal amount of colours that coordinate with my image.

Double Page Spread Plan

For my double page spread I will keep the bulk of the writing to the left along with the Headline and the introduction. I would like my image to be predominantly on the right however if possible I would like it to continue to the left fading out behind the writing. I will also include a Pull Quote so to catch the readers attention as they are scanning across the pages. This will need to be a quote from the interview-article that will cause the reader to want to read on.
